It’s almost time for Northern Nights: a wildly delightful EDM music festival in a remarkable location, the center of the Redwood Forest in Northern California’s Emerald Triangle. In its 10th year, Northern Nights is celebrating music, nature, and of course, cannabis. You may recall Northern Nights set the vibes for our outdoor lounge at HoF Santa Rosa 2023. They’re back at it.
This year’s killer lineup will be spread across 7 stages including headliners Big Gigantic, TOKiMONSTA, MIMOSA, G Jones, a DJ set from Mura Masa, and more. Northern Nights has a unique experience most concertgoers don’t get to access. It’s the first-ever music fest with a weed activation where consumers can connect with amazing cannabis brands on-site. Since launching the weed activation beginning in 2019, Northern Nights has evolved it into several on-site dispensaries and a weed lounge called The NN23 Tree Lounge.
This year, the Tree Lounge returns with a centrally located cannabis activation featuring cannabis sales, live music, shade, misters, and vibes. Attendees will also find unique, stoner-friendly activations throughout the festival. Expect to find an Emerald Triangle independent farms curated menu and farmers market with the finest herb from the best producers in the world.
This year, Northern Nights’ cannabis experience will be fully integrated into the venue’s footprint. The cannabis activations are made possible in partnership with Weedmaps, Embarc Events, Cvalt, and One Log House. The amazing cannabis farmers and brands you can expect to find at Northern Nights include Humboldt Seed Co., Royal Blunts, AbsoluteXtracts (ABX), Farmer & The Felon, Arcata Fire, Rising Source x Ridgeline Farms, Madrone, and Boonville Farm (BNVL). Northern Nights’ Tree Lounge will be the only place you will be able to consume this very limited batch of Emerald Triangle products.
Making history yet again, Northern Nights collaborated to create a unique new cultivar with the legends at Humboldt Seed Co. Northern Nights is now the first-ever music festival with its own cannabis strain. The cultivar has been years in the making. “The new ‘Northern Nights’ strain furthers the commitment of the organizers to revolutionize the ways that cannabis culture can be showcased in a music festival format while supporting local curators,” festival organizers say.
“The fusion of world-renowned cannabis and elite dance music is something you can only find at Northern Nights Festival. It’s an honor to provide this exclusive cultivar to our extended family at Northern Nights,” Humboldt Seed Company Product Executive Halle Pennington told Jimi Devine at L.A. Weekly. “We’ve sifted through thousands of unique strain combinations and shared visions to land on this highly curated genetic that we’re thrilled to share at such an amazing event. When two Humboldt legacies meet, magic can definitely happen.”
The serene natural surroundings make Northern Nights ideal for cannabis, especially since its venue is in the heart of The Emerald Triangle in Piercy, California, located right on the Humboldt / Mendocino border. A river stage allows attendees to dance and float in the Eel River. Now, they can smoke Northern Nights while dancing at Northern Nights.
“We can’t wait to be back on the dance floor with our community and enjoy the Northern Nights,” Pennington says. The festival goes down at Cook’s Valley Campground from July 14 to July 16, 2023.
